DTF Pressing Instructions

✅ Recommended Heat Press Settings

Stage Temp Time Pressure Peel
First Press 300°F – 310°F 10–12 seconds Medium / Firm HOT PEEL (immediately)
Second Press (Finishing Press) 300°F – 305°F 5–7 seconds Medium Pressure

Step-by-Step Pressing Guide

1. Pre-press the garment (very important)
Press the blank shirt for 3–5 seconds — this removes moisture and flattens fibers.
No Teflon or parchment yet.

2. Position your DTF transfer
Place the transfer face up (design facing you) exactly where you want it.

3. First Press
Close the press at 300–310°F for 10–12 seconds with medium to firm pressure.

4. HOT PEEL immediately
Lift the corner right away and pull the film off fast but smooth.
(DO NOT wait for it to cool — this is HOT PEEL film.)

5. Second Press (mandatory for best durability)
Cover with parchment paper, butcher paper, or Teflon sheet.
Press again for 5–7 seconds — same temperature.
This seals the ink permanently, gives a clean matte finish, and prevents cracking.

Pro Tips from 36Rush DTF

  • Never press below 280°F — ink won’t bond correctly.

  • If the transfer lifts during peel — increase pressure, not just heat.

  • Always do a second press — this is what makes it retail quality.

  • Works perfectly on cotton, polyester, blends, fleece, hoodies, tote bags, and more.

  • If using a cheap Amazon press — bump temp to 315°F (many run cooler than display).
